skelmersdale vision is on the move

Adrian is in charge of regeneration at the Borough council. Adrian said, "I always wish I could tell people more about the negotiations underway concerning Skelmersdale town centre. However commercial confidentialities prevent that. I can now say though that elements of the Skelmersdale Vision are falling into place."

Helped by gap funding in the seven figures from Conservative-controlled Lancashire County Council, the new Skelmersdale College is already underway. Now Adrian has welcomed the press release from the Borough council in conjunction with its development partner St Modwen.

The press release said,"The Borough Council, the Housing and Communties Agency and the preferred developer, St Modwen are currently working up the details of the scheme which should result in the submission of a planning application in the next few months. This will not only enhance the shopping provision in the town centre, but should also provide a significant boost to the leisure and entertainment sector of the town’s economy."

Adrian said, “The news of a planning application with months to make a start on the high street and deliver a boost to the town's leisure and entertainment offering, is just the news for which Skelmersdale residents have been waiting.”
