Conservatives step up support for Newburgh Post Office

West Lancashire Conservatives have stepped up their support to save Newburgh Post Office, which is threatened with closure under Government plans.

Conservatives were out in force in Newburgh on Thursday evening to join villagers protesting against the closure plans. Adrian Owens, the Conservative General Election candidate, who lives in Newburgh, headed the group of Conservative members who turned out in solidarity with locals.

Conservatives, led by Newburgh councillor Eddie Pope, are also mustering support from the district council and a motion calling on Post Office Ltd to reprieve Newburgh Post Office has been tabled for debate at this week’s council meeting by Cllr Pope and co-sponsored by Adrian.
