Adrian's intervention allows Parbold Youth Club to open

A funding boost from Lancashire Young People's Champion, Cllr George Askew will complete the three year project to establish the youth club in its own premises with a securely funded future.

The £750 grant was secured after Adrian's intervention and it will be used to purchase a coffee making machine along with the pots, pans, and glassware for the coffee bar which will operate as a not for profit Community Interest Company raising funds for youth and community services at the Station Road facility.

Adrian said, “I've watched the progress of the club with interest, and when Tim Cornah contacted me a few weeks ago seeking the final funding to complete the project I was determined to see what I could do. I'm delighted the project is so very nearly complete and I look forward to the official opening.”

Tim Cornah from the Youth Club said, “We're grateful to Adrian for his intervention and to George Askew for recognising that the enterprise we are establishing here involving a sports boutique and coffee bar will not only allow the youth club to be self-sustaining but also teach valuable business skills to the village's young people along with the construction skills they have already learned as a result of the renovation work undertaken.”
